Description

This large torque is delicately decorated with geometric and floral motifs. This ornamentation is the result of hammering and chiselling the material.  The necklace ends with two elegant spiral extremities. It is part of the large production of silver jewellery of South-East Asian ethnic groups, notably the Hmong, Yao and Akha. These tribes live in the mountainous regions of Yunnan, but also in northern Vietnam, Laos and Thailand. They are known for their great skill in working with silver.
