Description

This elegant bronze halberd blade is a characteristic example of the famous metal production of the Dong Son culture. This culture originated in the Red River, Ma River and Ca River valleys of present-day Vietnam and was distinguished by its great skill in bronze metallurgy. From the 7th century BC to the 2nd century AD, it produced objects with rich and varied styles such as intriguing drums, tools, jewellery and also numerous weapons. These objects were used for ceremonial purposes and also accompanied the deceased to their graves.
