Glazed and vitrified ceramic
14th – 15th century
D. 14.5 cm

Particularly harmonious is the decoration of superimposed lotus petals visible on the exterior wall. A groove marks out the petals and highlights the edge. This motif reflects an influence of Chinese celadons from Zhejiang in particular. A bowl covered with a white-green cover and kept at the Cernuschi Museum (MC 8201) has the same type of decoration. Measuring 14.5 cm in diameter, this charming cup is dated from the 14th-15th centuries, at the very end of the Tran dynasty.
