This magnificent and impressive terracotta jar, made by the potter’s wheel technique, which appeared in China in the 3rd millennium, has exceptionally preserved its shimmering polychromy as well as its lid. Organized in different registers, its aesthetic decoration presents bright representations of interlacing clouds and colored scrolls. These painted motifs are spread out over the whole piece and refer to the cosmic world. This antique hu vase fits perfectly into the Han production of painted vases that flourished at this time.<\/p>\n

Condition Report:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The work is in good condition and shows no signs of restoration. However, a little crack is identifiable between the foot and the body. Its polychrome decoration has been largely preserved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
