Description

This lovely antique ceramic is a small Hu 壺 vase. It has a rich polychrome decoration composed of geometric motifs divided into registers that extend from its mouth to its foot. This vase is typical of Chinese terracotta production during the Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD), whose hegemony corresponds to a very prosperous period of China’s early imperial reigns.

Condition report:

The work is in a very good state of conservation despite a small loss of polychromy on the body. Its decoration is mostly preserved and still shows beautiful shimmering red tones.
